I wrote stories constantly in elementary school and would beg my teacher to let me share them with the class because I needed an audience. I dreamed of bringing those stories to life and made book trailers that I would burn to a DVD and play for anyone who would watch them. I wrote a TV show that I roped all of my friends to act in and did all of the writing, production, and editing myself. I taught myself complex video editing and basic animation skills because I couldn't get enough of telling stories visually and getting to live within the stories I loved for a little while longer.
Upon attending DePaul I was introduced to so many new and exciting venues to tell stories and create compelling design work. I fell in love with making 3D design and using typography to organize visual information, and especially found a love for title design as it allows me to stay connected to design but still be involved in the storytelling of TV and film by creating accompanying visuals to compliment the stories being told.
My work is often informed by the journeys of self-discovery I have embarked upon, showing up within themes of transformation and space, and engaging with bright colors and concepts. This connects with the stories I liked to tell as a child because I was always interested in the fantastical, and I try to add some element of whimsy and visual interest into everything I create.
